JEE Main 2022 Application Form Starts, Exam Date, Eligibility, Selection Process

JEE Main 2022 Exam: The Union Education Minister has announced the JEE Main Exam Dates 2022 for April & May session on the official website nta.ac.in along with NTA JEE 2022 brochure on 01st March 2022. The authorities have announced to conduct the JEE Main 2022 Exam 2 times in the month of April and May. JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main) is a national level entrance exam conducted by the NTA to select students for admission in BE/BTech, BPlan, and BArch courses at the IIITs, NITs and other CFTIs across the country. It is also the eligibility exam for the JEE Advanced for admission in various UG and dual engineering programmes offered by the IIT’s in the country.

JEE Main 2022 Online Application

The application form of JEE Main 2022 for 2 sessions will be released separately in online mode. Candidates will be able to fill and submit their JEE Main 2021 application form for papers 1 (BE/BTech), paper 2 (BArch and BPlan). The JEE Main 2022 registration for the April session has been active from 01st March to 31st March 2022.

JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check and must fulfill all the eligibility conditions to be eligible for JEE Main. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2022 is as follows:

JEE Main Age Limit

There is no age limit for aspirants appearing in the JEE Main

JEE Main Educational Qualification

Candidates who have passed their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020 or 2021 are eligible.

Those who are appearing in their Class 12 examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2022 are also eligible to appear in January and April session

Candidates who passed Class 12th/ Qualifying examination before 2020 as well as those who will appear in such examination after 2022 are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2022.

Qualifying subjects:

Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th /qualifying examination to be eligible

Qualifying marks

To appear in JEE Main 2022, there are no minimum qualifying marks for admission in NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and CFTIs.

Total attempts

A candidate is allowed to attempt the exam for three consecutive years

The number of attempts will be two in total a year from 2022

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2022

JEE Main 2022 will be conducted through three papers for B.E/ B.Tech, B.Architecture, and B.Planning. JEE Main 2022 Exam pattern has undergone some drastic changes this year. For the first time choice has been introduced for questions considering the reduction in the syllabus by CBSE and other state boards. Although total questions in each of the 3 papers have been increased, the total marks for the papers remain the same as the previous years.

JEE Main 2022 Cut Off

NTA will release the JEE Main 2022 Cut Off for Paper 1 based on the candidate’s category along with the JEE Main Result. The JEE Main Cut Off is the minimum rank that grabs a seat in the NITs, IIITs, or the GFTIs. As NTA JEE Main is the screening test for JEE Advanced, NTA releases the qualifying cutoff required to appear in JEE Advanced along with the result.
